Sidney : ‘Swaranjali 2014’ conducted by the St.Thomas Arts and Recreation Club of the St.Thomas Indian Orthodox Cathedral, was a variety experience for the people. This program was conducted as part of the fund raising program for the construction of the sunday school building. The program was conducted on March 1st at 6pm at the Bahai Center, Silver Water. Cheif Guest Melani Gibonas, acting speaker, inaugurated the program. Rev.Fr.Thomas Varghese, Vicar, welcomed the gathering and briefed the intention of the program. The chief guest said that he has been taking part in all the functions of the St.Thomas Cathedral considering being a member of the church. Rev.Mathews A.Mahew, Rev.Fr.Thomas Kurunthanam, Rev.Fr.Babu Kurien, Rev.Fr.George Akkaramattom, Sidney Malayali Association President K.P.Josea and Senior Member of Malayali Association K.Raman also took part in the program.
The traditional and contemporary dance performances by the artists of Sidney was a great attraction of the program. The fusion song performance by the Darshana Arts fusing malayalam , hindi and tamil songs was a great hit. Swaranjali turned to be a memorable one.
Members of other parishes and people from Canbera, Gosford, Newcastle, Orange, Woolengong, Vagavaga also took part.
Many institutions and organizations aided the program with the advertisement and their participation.
Chief Cordinator of the program Usha Mathew proposed the vote of thanks. The unity of the club members could be seen throughout the program and it was told that such cherishable programs can be expected again in future.
